In This engine, also called Skudra split cycle engine, the split cycle, internal combustion engine invented by Carmelo J. Scuderi.
The Scuderi engine a pair of cylinders, each of which performs two strokes of the conventional engine. In this engine, the compression cylinder performs intake and compression, while the power cylinder performs combustion and exhaust. The compressed air is transferred from the compression cylinder power cylinder through a crossover passage, and finally the fuel is injected and fired to produce the power stroke.
