Edward is a creation that is known as a diwheel was built by a team of students from the Australian University of Adelaide. It definitely looks like it was transported from the realm of fantasy, but think carefully, Edward in full. What is more surprising is that it can be controlled with great precision.
So why calling his work Edward? Well, it's short for electric Diwheel with active rotation damping and it is something like a unicycle, where the seat of the rider is inside the wheel. However, in the case of this diwheel, instead of one, there are two axially aligned wheels and a seat right in between them. The students worked on the project since 2009 and they finally achieved a level of stability and control they sought. Now, Edward has a maximum speed of 25 miles per hour and looks like what everyone would like to ride.
